About Our School

Wodensfield Primary School consists of three buildings. The Infant (KS1) building was built in 1931 and extensively modernised in 1972-3. Children are admitted into a school reception class at the beginning of the Autumn Term of the year in which they turn 5.

The Nursery has 40 morning places and 40 afternoon places. It is housed in a building with its own play area and joins the KS1 building. There is a teacher in charge of the Nursery and 3 Nursery Nurses. Most children spend at least one full year in the Nursery before moving into school in September.

The Junior (KS2) building was opened in September 1971. The two main teaching “wings” are (at present) each sub-divided into four teaching areas. These blocks are often referred to as Upper and Lower School. The Junior and Infant Schools were amalgamated to form one school providing education from 3 – 11 in 1990.
