Big adventures for our little explorers at Kingswood!

Empathy week 2026. We all belong to many different groups and cultures, but we also all belong together!

In ICT Year 2 have been creating a poster warning people about the dangers and symptoms of the Bubonic Plague. Working with partners, they use PIC.COLLAGE to produce an informative and eye catching public notice. What can you create on PIC.COLLAGE?

In Year 2 the children were set the challenge of creating their very own Tudor house, based on our History topic - London in 1665. What a fabulous group of houses we have so far!

In Science this week 2H investigated a variety of materials to discover which one would be the best for an umbrella. Our three key questions were - Is it strong ? Is it lightweight? Is it waterproof?

During English today we narrated and acted out our own Helicopter Stories based on Jill Murphy’s story ‘On the way home’.

Today 2H were introduced to Reggae - a music genre originating from Jamaica - by listening to a selection of songs by the one and only Bob Marley. We identified the rhythm and feel of the music and moved our bodies in time.

In 2H today we used our Geography mapping skills to design a birds eye view map of ‘The Elves Village’.

When Santa met 2H and 2K! What a great Christmas party we had!

In preparation for designing and making a healthy wrap we tasted a variety of nutritious ingredients. Will your wrap contain something from all the food groups for a balanced meal?

During Geography today we completed an orienteering activity by using our map skills to locate hidden letters within our outside area.

It was wonderful to see the amazing creations at the end of our workshop yesterday. Thank you all for a most enjoyable afternoon.

We assembled the donations of cereal boxes for the Harvest Festival and created our very own Harvest Dominoes.

In music with Mr. Wilcox today we used instruments - Claves, Glockenspiels and Egg Shakers - to play in parts during the singing of our new song ‘Welcome back to Wodensfield’.

In Science we have been discussing what animals need to survive. This week we discovered more about birds and took the opportunity to feed our feathered friends in the forest.

In English our focus story is Silly Billy. Billy is a worrier. His grandma helps with her worry dolls, made from tiny pieces of wood and scraps of material. So we made our very own worry dolls.
