3HW - Parent Music Session
3HW had great fun yesterday in their Parent Music Session. It was wonderful to share our learning with the parents that joined us. Everyone was involved and we played the glockenspiels and sang duets with the parents that came. We had a wonderful time!

3HW - Tanglewood at Cannock Chase July 2026
3HW visited Tanglewood at Cannock Chase to take part in a Stone Age Day. We met the organisers and looked at all the animals that were around in the Stone Age. 3HW were super at recalling all the knowledge they had learnt in the classroom. We then went out into the forest to build shelters which were waterproof. We had to build them in teams of 5, and Carol came around and gave them a water test while we were in them. Y3's Sports Day
Y3 had a super Sports Day this morning. They took part in a sprint race, an obstacle race, a relay, a long run and various field games such as javelin and quoit throwing. Y3/4 Choir's visit to New Cross Care Home
Yesterday Y3/4 Choir visited New Cross Care Home to sing a medley of songs to the residents. The children were fantastic. Their smiles and super singing voices made it a thoroughly enjoyable event for everyone. The residents joined in and loved the experience. Our Y3/4 Choir certainly did an amazing job, well done to you all, we are so proud of you!

3HW's Water Safety Lesson
3HW have been learning about Water Safety in their PSHE lesson this week. We looked at the dangers of swimming in water or when doing water sports. We looked at warning signs and beach flags that are used to keep us safe, these are placed or put up around indoor and outdoor water areas. We later designed water safety posters!

Wolverhampton Music School Visits Wodensfield
KS2 had an amazing time this morning when Wolverhampton Music School visited school to share with us their instruments and to play as a quartet. The children listened to various, famous pieces and could identify some that they knew. The children were a superb audience and listened intently. They asked thoughtful questions and could describe elements of the music and how the music made them feel.

Y3's National Numeracy Day
Year 3 have had great fun today celebrating National Numeracy Day. We have been learning how to tell the time to 5 minutes. We have solved Number puzzles and we have completed a Times Table orienteering task. We have had a great day!

KS2 Choir's Visit to 'The Halls' in Wolverhampton
KS2 Choir visited 'The Halls' in Wolverhampton today to take part in a live performance with Wolverhampton Music School and with many more Wolverhampton schools. The children represented their school with pride and sang their little hearts out. They thoroughly enjoyed taking part and we are so proud of them. Well done KS2 Choir!

3HW's Commonwealth 2026 Celebration
3HW had fun this afternoon taking part in Wolverhampton's celebrations of the Commonwealth Games that will start in the summer. We received the baton on the playground and waved flags. We then found out about the Commonwealth Games and looked at the countries who take part. We also looked at Scotland who will be hosting the games this summer in Glasgow.

3HW Whole Class Reading
3HW completed their 'Whole Class Read' text yesterday - Fantastic Mr Fox by Roald Dahl. They have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Yesterday, they worked with a partner to find evidence from the text to support the view that Mr Fox was fantastic. Later in the same lesson, they used the text to support the view that Mr Fox was not fantastic. During the week they will form their own opinion and evidence it with points from the text. Well done 3HW you worked hard on this!

3HW Mosaics
3HW have been learning all about the Romans in History and they have had a super art lesson finding out how the Romans used mosaics! They then designed and made their own mosaic tile!

Year 3 Assembly
We are so proud of our youngest KS2 children, who today performed their Year 3 Assembly to their parents/carers. They were fantastic. They shared their Year 3 journey with the audience, shared pictures from throughout the year and sang songs that they had learnt in their Music sessions. They were amazing!

3HW's Whole Class Reading
3HW have begun a new shared text in Whole Class Reading. They are reading about the adventures of Fantastic Mr Fox written by Roald Dahl. So far it has been full of fun and mischief. The children have studied the characters and cannot wait to find out how Mr Fox escapes the farmers.

3HW's Roman Day
3HW had an exciting day today when a Roman came to visit Wodensfield. They found out many facts and took part in Roman soldier training. They got to handle real-life armour, weapons and soldier kit. It was a fantastic day and thoroughly enjoyed by all.

French Greetings
Today in our French lesson, Year 3 learnt how to say hello, how are you and goodbye. They were able to hold a conversation in pairs greeting each other, asking how are you, answering how they were and saying goodbye. They had great fun. I wonder if they can teach you some of those phrases at home!
