Thank you so much to all who attended our Christmas songs and crafts. The children worked very hard to learn their songs and we have had a lot of fun singing them each day. We are definitely getting into the Christmas spirit :) The craft session went very well. All the adults and children got stuck in and some beautiful crafts (and treats to eat) were made. We are so proud of each and every child!

We have made torches in our Design and Technology lessons.

Year 3 have been having lots of fun this week in Design and Technology. They have investigated how pneumatic systems are used and have designed and made a Monster that moves using air! We hope you enjoy looking at our fabulous creations!

A small group of our super Year 6 pupils attended a writing workshop at Wolverhampton's Art Gallery today based around the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition. The workshop, hosted by Wolverhampton Council's CLL team, taught the children about using sentences of varying length, different cohesive devices, purposeful vocabulary and circular endings to a story. The children loved looking at the wonderful wildlife photos and all chose one to base their own writing on. A

Our talented STEM Racing Club members brought festive fun and creativity to this year’s Christmas Fair by running their own stalls! Visitors enjoyed exciting activities like ‘Bouncy Ball or Brussels Sprouts’ and Christmas bauble decorating, while browsing a selection of crochet, baked goods and balloons. Thanks to their hard work and enthusiasm, the club raised an amazing £101.81! All proceeds will go towards costumes and materials for the upcoming STEM Racing Regional Final.

Reception had a letter from Stick Lady Love to tell us that Stick Man is lost. We decided to search inside our forest to see if we could find him. We have not managed to find him yet, however we have been enjoying the story and we have made ‘Lost’ posters that describe him in the hope that he will be found soon!

Well done to our Junior Choir for their beautiful singing at St Thomas’ Church. It was a lovely way to begin our Christmas celebrations.

During Geography today we completed an orienteering activity by using our map skills to locate hidden letters within our outside area.

We recently hosted a  Parent-Child Online Safety Workshop for our KS2 families. Parents and children worked together on interactive activities from our online safety challenge, exploring real-life scenarios about staying safe online. To help support children's reading and their recognition of the Common Exception Words (Red Words) we have created a video file that you can watch and read together. We will be using this video in class to further support recognition; the Common Exception Words can also be found in the back of your child's Reading Diary.

In their English lessons, the Year 6 children have been writing persuasive speeches to persuade the Headteacher that Saturday school must not go ahead. They worked in teams to write a speech and presented it to their classmates. They delivered powerful and convincing speeches, which were wonderful to hear. Well done Year 6. Let’s hope our weekends remain untouched!!!

Year 6 took part in a Now Press Play experience all about the Maya civilisation. Through storytelling, they explored Maya culture and achievements, bringing History to life.
