Wednesfield in Bloom provided many Wednesfield schools, including Wodensfield, with wooden flowers to paint. Children from 2K and 2H chose to use school colours for theirs, “Like Sunflowers”. The flowers will be used in the village as part of their efforts to win gold again on judging day in July.

As part of our Geography topic African we explored the lives and culture of the Maasai Tribe. The children created their own vibrant tribal jewellery.

We travelled through Wild Asia, The African Lowlands, The Grasslands and The African Plains, and we saw a dazzle of zebras, an angry of Barbary sheep, a tower of giraffes, a parade of elephants, a conspiracy of lemurs, a crash of rhinoceroses and a pride of lions and many, many more. 🐯🐘🦁🐅🦓🐧🦛🦏🦒

Today we worked on performance poetry using Michael Rosen’s nonsense poem ‘Help !’. We worked in groups to practise and refine our prosody skills before performing to an audience.

Our brilliant writers continue to shine and make their teachers, families and themselves proud. Well done to all of our ‘Wonderful Writers’ award winners.

2H designed their own playground games, using their mathematical skills to calculate a point scoring system.
