Our Year 6 were exemplary role models this afternoon when they joined Year 1 to share their stories for World Book Day.

Year 6 had a brilliant time celebrating World Book Day by creating their own reading dens using tables, chairs and blankets, transforming the classroom into a cosy maze of miniature hideaways. Look through the picture to see that the reading even spilled out into the corridor!

Our Year 6 were exemplary role models this afternoon when they joined Year 1 to share their stories for World Book Day. The year 1 children thoroughly enjoyed it.

Year 6 have been creating Scratch tours of our local area, using variables, broadcasts and selection to make their projects interactive. They’ve enjoyed coding quizzes, fun facts and scene changes into their tours. We’re really proud of their brilliant work—here are a few snapshots!

Thank you to our parents and carers for your fantastic support during our termly book fairs. Your contributions have helped us raise funds which we have used to purchase a wonderful selection of new books to enhance our reading shelves throughout school.

Today, we celebrated our wonderful writers in our half termly assembly. It was lovely to recognise the efforts of our children. Well done all!

Two STEM racing teams recently travelled to Aston University to compete in the Regional Finals, where they showcased the model cars they had carefully engineered and designed. As part of the competition, pupils delivered a professional presentation, created a pit display and underwent rigorous engineering scrutiny. Year 6 experiencing what it would be like to be a child in India making paper bags to earn a living after our unit in RE understanding why different faiths have founded their own charitable organisations.

Our Year 6’s have really enjoyed their electricity topic in science and problem solving with different electrical circuits.

Year 6 have been enjoying The Dreamsnatcher. From mysterious adventures to magical forests, the story has really captured their imaginations. They’ve been diving into discussions, making predictions, and exploring the vocabulary in the book.

Yesterday afternoon, our Year 6’s really enjoyed listening to Tom Palmer talk, in a virtual workshop, about being a professional author and to have the opportunity to ask lots of questions. It was great to hear about how he became an author, about some of his books and the inspirations behind them. Thank you, Tom.

Year 6 brought the energy and teamwork to their PE lessons as they learned the traditional Māori haka, embracing rhythm, movement and cultural expression. A great display of energy and enthusiasm.

Well done to all of our wonderful writers (masquerading as elves!) for this half term. They all received a special certificate and personalised, golden pencil. We’re proud of their efforts and all of our wonderful writers.

Choir attended Sing4Xmas this week - a city event held by Wolverhampton Music Services at St John's Church in Wolverhampton. They joined with a number of schools to sing many festive songs and even performed their own piece in front of a large audience. Many of our children and staff got to perform in some of the songs with other children and teachers, and great fun was had by all. This was a super way to end a very busy month of spreading Christmas cheer out and about in our

Our Year 6 children have been thinking about form and function in their design and technology lessons to create their own steady hand games. The project combined creativity, problem solving and electrical know-how. The children worked hard to design, build, and wire their games. Our Year 5 and 6 pupils filled the hall with festive cheer during their carol concerts today. From classic carols to modern pop songs, they truly captured the spirit of the season.
