Year 6 - Nerf Wars and Zorbing
Our Year 6 pupils had a fantastic time with Nerf Wars and zorbing today! Lots of laughter, teamwork and brilliant memories made as they bounced and battled their way through the morning. Well done, Year 6!

Year 6 Transition Support Session
Today, our Year 6 pupils took part in a really valuable session with Reflexions, focusing on the transition to high school. During the session, the children were given the opportunity to talk openly about any worries or anxieties they may have about moving on to secondary school. They also explored practical strategies to help manage these feelings and build their confidence for this exciting next step.

6R Parent Music Workshops
6R were joined by parents at a wonderful music workshop run by the marvellous Mr Wilcox today. Everyone joined in playing the djembe drums, claves and egg shakers - there was even some impressive singing! The parents put on a great show and much fun was had by all!

Year 6 Design and Technology
Year 6 have been busy acting as real designers, using Tinkercad to create custom micro:bit cases in response to a client brief. They showed great creativity and problem-solving as they developed and refined their 3D designs—fantastic work from our future designers! 👏💻

Wolverhampton Music School Visits Wodensfield
KS2 had an amazing time this morning when Wolverhampton Music School visited school to share with us their instruments and to play as a quartet. The children listened to various, famous pieces and could identify some that they knew. The children were a superb audience and listened intently. They asked thoughtful questions and could describe elements of the music and how the music made them feel.

Year 6 - Commonwealth Games Artwork
Year 6 have created vibrant oil pastel artwork inspired by the Commonwealth Games, using bold colours and striking silhouettes to celebrate movement, diversity and creativity.

Our Year 6 children proudly took part in Wolverhampton’s celebration of the Commonwealth Games. As a school, Wodensfield chose to support our home nations, with Year 6 representing Wales in style!

KS2 Choir's Visit to 'The Halls' in Wolverhampton
KS2 Choir visited 'The Halls' in Wolverhampton today to take part in a live performance with Wolverhampton Music School and with many more Wolverhampton schools. The children represented their school with pride and sang their little hearts out. They thoroughly enjoyed taking part and we are so proud of them. Well done KS2 Choir!

Year 6 SATs Celebration
Our Year 6 pupils have celebrated the end of their SATs in style this week! After working incredibly hard, they enjoyed a well-deserved treat with a visit from the ice cream van, followed by a special celebration lunch with friends. To top it all off, the hall was transformed for a very memorable “snow day” — with a flurry of past papers flying through the air! STEM Racing National Final
Huge congratulations to our team of four who competed in the STEM Racing National Finals in Rotherham! They designed a custom model car, delivered a professional presentation, and built an impressive pit display. Last week’s Year 6 residential was an absolute blast! Two nights away and the children didn’t stop smiling — full of energy, teamwork and brilliant attitudes all the way through. What a trip!

WBD in Y6
Year 6 had a brilliant time celebrating World Book Day by creating their own reading dens using tables, chairs and blankets, transforming the classroom into a cosy maze of miniature hideaways. Look through the picture to see that the reading even spilled out into the corridor!
