KS2 had an amazing time this morning when Wolverhampton Music School visited school to share with us their instruments and to play as a quartet. The children listened to various, famous pieces and could identify some that they knew. The children were a superb audience and listened intently. They asked thoughtful questions and could describe elements of the music and how the music made them feel.

Year 6 have created vibrant oil pastel artwork inspired by the Commonwealth Games, using bold colours and striking silhouettes to celebrate movement, diversity and creativity.

Our Year 6 children proudly took part in Wolverhampton’s celebration of the Commonwealth Games. As a school, Wodensfield chose to support our home nations, with Year 6 representing Wales in style!

KS2 Choir visited 'The Halls' in Wolverhampton today to take part in a live performance with Wolverhampton Music School and with many more Wolverhampton schools. The children represented their school with pride and sang their little hearts out. They thoroughly enjoyed taking part and we are so proud of them. Well done KS2 Choir!

Our Year 6 pupils have celebrated the end of their SATs in style this week! After working incredibly hard, they enjoyed a well-deserved treat with a visit from the ice cream van, followed by a special celebration lunch with friends. To top it all off, the hall was transformed for a very memorable “snow day” — with a flurry of past papers flying through the air! Today, we celebrated our wonderful writers from across school for their super effort, progress and compositions. Well done all.

Huge congratulations to our team of four who competed in the STEM Racing National Finals in Rotherham! ​They designed a custom model car, delivered a professional presentation, and built an impressive pit display. We’re incredibly proud of their hard work 🏆 ​Well done to our national finalists for a fantastic day of engineering and teamwork.

Last week’s Year 6 residential was an absolute blast! Two nights away and the children didn’t stop smiling — full of energy, teamwork and brilliant attitudes all the way through. What a trip!

After an exciting first day, we are pleased to share that all of the children slept well and settled quickly last night. They woke up to a beautifully sunny morning here at Whitemoor Lakes, ready for another day of adventure and activities.

Our Year 6 were exemplary role models this afternoon when they joined Year 1 to share their stories for World Book Day.

Year 6 had a brilliant time celebrating World Book Day by creating their own reading dens using tables, chairs and blankets, transforming the classroom into a cosy maze of miniature hideaways. Look through the picture to see that the reading even spilled out into the corridor!

Our Year 6 were exemplary role models this afternoon when they joined Year 1 to share their stories for World Book Day. The year 1 children thoroughly enjoyed it.

Year 6 have been creating Scratch tours of our local area, using variables, broadcasts and selection to make their projects interactive. They’ve enjoyed coding quizzes, fun facts and scene changes into their tours. We’re really proud of their brilliant work—here are a few snapshots!
