Reception - Water Assembly
Reception children joined the Severn Trent Water assembly today where we learned about the importance of water, the journey of water and even a look at the water cycle. They enjoyed meeting Robbie the raindrop and learned of ways we can save water. There were lots of games involved which made the learning fun.

Reception MP
This afternoon, the children in Reception MP enjoyed their first Now Press Play experience. They used the headphones to listen to a minibeast experience, this included going on a minibeast hunt. They counted the spots on a ladybird, shrunk themselves down to the size of a snail and counted how many legs a spider has. The children had lots of fun!

Reception Minibeast Hunt
Reception enjoyed exploring the forest and searching for minibeasts. We have been learning about a range of minibeasts this week, their life cycles, what they like to eat and where they like to hide. Some children had magnifying glasses and others had clipboards to record their findings. After looking on leaves and under logs we found woodlice, worms and slugs :)

Reception Maths
We have been exploring the mass of items from around our classroom. The children have been able to explain how they know if an object is heavier or lighter by whether it goes higher or lower on the balance scales. We have also been able to use the star vocabulary: heavy, heavier, light lighter.

Reception in the Forest
Reception have enjoyed visiting the forest for the first time in 2026. The sun was shining and the children explored all of the climbing equipment, built dens and made mud soup. It was lovely to see all of the children cooperating and enjoying the fresh air and nature :)
