Year 1 Maths ⏱️💦☀️
In Maths, we have been learning about time. So we took our learning outside into the shade. The children relaxed while we carried out an experiment measuring how long it took for the water to evaporate in the sunshine.

Reception - Fun in the Sun
Reception have enjoyed both indoor and outdoor learning this week. We have been learning about seasides, pirates and boats. Children had the opportunity to build their own boats using junk modelling and construction resources; they then tested their boats in the water trays. It was interesting to hear the children investigate floating and sinking and conversations even turned to the Titanic. Year 4 enjoyed their 'Greek Day'. They did some Greek dancing and tried some Greek food.

Reception F - Sports Day
Reception F thoroughly enjoyed sports day. The children participated in an obstacle course, quoit throw and a sprint. Each child was placed in a colour team and we all cheered for each other. The weather was kind and it was a lovely afternoon all round. Thank you to the parents that came to support this event!

2H and 2K
Wednesfield in Bloom provided many Wednesfield schools, including Wodensfield, with wooden flowers to paint. Children from 2K and 2H chose to use school colours for theirs, “Like Sunflowers”. The flowers will be used in the village as part of their efforts to win gold again on judging day in July.

2H Class News

Year 6 Sports Day
What an incredible afternoon we had at Sports Day! The children showed enthusiasm, determination, and teamwork across all of the track and field events. From sprints and relays to triple jump and throwing activities, everyone gave their best effort. Well done Year 6!

Y3's Sports Day

Y3/4 Choir's visit to New Cross Care Home
Yesterday Y3/4 Choir visited New Cross Care Home to sing a medley of songs to the residents. The children were fantastic. Their smiles and super singing voices made it a thoroughly enjoyable event for everyone. The residents joined in and loved the experience. Our Y3/4 Choir certainly did an amazing job, well done to you all, we are so proud of you!

Year 6 - Nerf Wars and Zorbing
Our Year 6 pupils had a fantastic time with Nerf Wars and zorbing today! Lots of laughter, teamwork and brilliant memories made as they bounced and battled their way through the morning. Well done, Year 6!

Reception MP - Ambulance Visit
Reception MP enjoyed a visit from the Ambulance service this week. They enjoyed listening to what the job role is, what the uniform looks like and how they help people. Thank you to the ladies for a lovely afternoon!

3HW's Water Safety Lesson
3HW have been learning about Water Safety in their PSHE lesson this week. We looked at the dangers of swimming in water or when doing water sports. We looked at warning signs and beach flags that are used to keep us safe, these are placed or put up around indoor and outdoor water areas. We later designed water safety posters!

Ambulance Service Visit-Reception F
This afternoon we had a visit from the Ambulance Service where the children learned about the job role, the uniform and how and why we might phone 999 in an emergency. The children were taught how to give chest compressions on a resuscitation doll using the correct hand movements. The children listened so well and were very engaged. What a lovely afternoon :)

Year 6 Transition Support Session
Today, our Year 6 pupils took part in a really valuable session with Reflexions, focusing on the transition to high school. During the session, the children were given the opportunity to talk openly about any worries or anxieties they may have about moving on to secondary school. They also explored practical strategies to help manage these feelings and build their confidence for this exciting next step.

6R Parent Music Workshops
6R were joined by parents at a wonderful music workshop run by the marvellous Mr Wilcox today. Everyone joined in playing the djembe drums, claves and egg shakers - there was even some impressive singing! The parents put on a great show and much fun was had by all!

1E - Music Sessions
1E had a wonderful time this morning sharing their music lesson with parents. The grown ups joined in by singing along and shaking eggs to the rhythm of the music. Mr Wilcox was very impressed and so were we!

What a fabulous day 2H had at the West Midlands Safari Park !
We travelled through Wild Asia, The African Lowlands, The Grasslands and The African Plains, and we saw a dazzle of zebras, an angry of Barbary sheep, a tower of giraffes, a parade of elephants, a conspiracy of lemurs, a crash of rhinoceroses and a pride of lions and many, many more. 🐯🐘🦁🐅🦓🐧🦛🦏🦒

Year 6 Design and Technology
Year 6 have been busy acting as real designers, using Tinkercad to create custom micro:bit cases in response to a client brief. They showed great creativity and problem-solving as they developed and refined their 3D designs—fantastic work from our future designers! 👏💻
